The world`s largest amber factory plans to increase the production of sunstone by 43 percent in 2017
Next year Kaliningrad Amber Factory plans to increase the amount of raw amber mined by 43 percent compared with the volume planned for 2016, as reported by the press service of the enterprise on Monday.
The production volume will amount to about 315 tons of sunstone in 2016 and 450 tons in 2017. Currently, amber is mined in the area of glacial erosion.
The largest amber deposit in Russia`s Kaliningrad region is unmatched in proven reserves and mineral concentration. About 90 percent of global production volume of this stone is mined at Kaliningrad Amber Factory.
