On the border of Moldova and Romania on February 10, a man was arrested who tried to illegally take out of the country more than two kilograms of amber jewelry. The man said that he bought them in Transnistria and intended to sell them in Turkey. This was reported by the Border Police.
On the night of February 10, a Ford Galaxy car, in which there were several people, arrived at the Giurgiulesti-Galati checkpoint.
Based on the received operational information, the border guards carried out an additional check of one of the passengers of the car – a 28-year-old native of Comrat.
During a body search, border guards found 2.1 kg of amber beads, which the man had tightly fastened around his waist.
The man said that he bought beads in Transnistria and planned to sell them in Turkey.
The border guards drew up a protocol, which, together with the seized amber, will be handed over to the Customs Service for investigation.
